Project Work
At the ICL Graduate School, my Project Management unit assumed the role of working in a team project where we were to set up a digital presence of a new coconut candle business, De Nature Glow. This was a startup at its infancy phase with no established marketing platforms or social media pages or even a web site, and therefore had no organized online presence or recognition coupled with brand identity. The project was a different and enticing chance to start the digital presence of the company bottom up. These activities included establishing an effective yet appealing web site as well as establishing the platform upon which the overall marketing and customer engagement activities of this firm would be based in a very competitive natural products industry.
Project demanded us to be strategic about the prospects of the project since the success of De Nature Glow will be largely predetermined by the ability of the digital platforms to deliver values of the brand to the target audience and attract people who appreciate sustainability, natural products, and artisanal production. This further burdened by the fact that the design would also have to accommodate both the aesthetic and technical elements such that the site would not only be a piece capable of assisting in potential sales and branding but that it would be accessible and easy to use by each and every prospective client or customer.
Project Task
The primary risk in this project presented itself in a complex way. With its first-ever appearance on the internet, De Nature Glow had to go through an entire process of creating its marketing base step by step, and the first campaign through the web was an essential part of the building-out process. As opposed to a redesign of such an existing platform, this implied that there were zero legacy content, branding standards, and customer feedback that could be used. The first step and the entire process of ensuring that our team was able to form a digital identity that will be appealing to the target market had to be done, as it were, starting with nothing.
01.
Creating a web platform that could actually reflect the mission of the company of being able to produce natural, eco-friendly coconut candles and presented the story of the brand as well as the values in the most effective way possible through both the design and content.
Designing and developing an unequaled and non- challenging user experience to those visitors that had no previous association with the company or its products. This was deductive navigation, well defined and effective product descriptions.
Making the site completely responsive and viewable in most of the browsers and devices, considering the rising significance of mobile traffic.
02.
Employing simple yet necessary SEO strategies at the initial levels to be able to have organic finding in a market where the digital competition is so intense.
Future proofing of business demands by planning a site structure that would be scaled up during the future and may support an e-commerce capacity, and social media applications. Being a team, working together to merge the technical development, project management and marketing views to come up with a unified working solution.
Such is a complex task that required more than technical ability to develop the site but to have an intimate knowledge of project management, team building and overall strategic thinking in order to produce a product that would match the vision of the client as well as serve the market.
Goals/Objective
The primary objective of the project was to draw and create an online report that acts as a foundation of De Nature Glow internet presence. Since the company did not have any digital platforms, it was a big job to research everything and plan the site, including user experience, branding, and technical scaling of future businesses.
Designing an aesthetically appealing and user friendly site which captured the essence of the brand as natural, sustainable and artisan coconut candle company. It involved the use of the right color combination, font, pictures or images.
Development of a mobile-responsive site, to make it accessible and optimizing user-experience of all sites on the smart phones and other tablets given the large population of users accessing websites using the smart phone and other tablets.
Installing efficient SEO basics in order to appear in the search engines like keyword rich content, proper meta tags and clean URLs such that De Nature Glow would start accruing organic traffic even at the very start.
Setting the foundation of future e-commerce functionality and social media capability making sure the site would be scalable and able to adjust and meet the new necessities of the company as it would grow its customer base and offering.
Facilitating teamwork and implementing the principles of project management such as communication act, delegation of tasks, and monitoring of milestones to make the project on time and quality.
Involvement
The Website Developer became my role in this project, as such providing me with a supportive position where I could help to bring the ideas held about the project into reality through bringing the project into a digitalized form. I was supposed to interact closely with the rest of the employees and my duties needed both technical and teamwork capabilities to have the site match the vision of that company, and the goals of the project, as a whole.
I made contributions such as:
Taking the chief role in technical development process (planning department to deployment). I planned the site structure, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to create a harmonious and enjoyable experience of the site visitors. Working with other members of the team that created content and branded the site to amalgamate captivating stories and product explanations into the site in a way that is natural and does not give away the place it does belong to.
Designing to have wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes, ready to show the suggested layout and design and get feedback on the same before coding. The design was improved through this process of iteration, with the intention of coming up with a design that would be potentially more suitable to take up the demand of the user and the expectations of the client. Creating the site with the help of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with the emphasis on clean code, good loading speed, and support of recent versions of web browsers.
Creating cross-platform and cross-browser capabilities by testing the site on a lot of devices and screen sizes. Incorporating rudimentary forms of SEO and accessibility standards into the site, so that it becomes usable by a wide range of visitors even those dealing with a disability. Technical leadership of the team on the possibilities of digital marketing, making sure that the project was not out of date in terms of web development and online branding.

Team Work
I implemented a fixed and user-centered development procedure, which integrated both a technical course of action and a strategic way of thinking, to reassure the project is successful: Research and Analysis -The analysis of similar business and competitors in the market was carried out to know what the industry expects and possible areas that are likely to distinguish the online presence of De Nature Glow. Teamwork Planning: Contributed to brainstorming with the project team to set out definite goals, target markets, and here-wish of the web site.

Designing and Development
Design and Prototyping -Wireframed and prototyped with tools such as Figma (or Adobe XD, where available) in order to chart out the journey and interface with the user. To better the layout and flow, the feedback of the team members was also considered. Development - Constructed the site with a mobile-first principle, suggesting that mobile matters ought to be keenly prioritized to bring in the best experience on whichever device. Applied semantic HTML code and CSS to make the content of those pages crawlable and indexable by the search engines.

Testing and Delivery
Testing and Refinement- Ran a lot of quality assurance tests to solve the problems with bugs, run faster and optimize user interface. This step involved the validation of forms, verification of links and content uniformity among browsers. Delivery and handover - Delivered the final product of the website to the client and gave him documentation on how he could update the materials and maintain the site in the future.
Outcome
The third and last delivery was the actual real site which was a functional and aesthetically pleasing site that could be easily used in an effective manner that was the primary online platform of De Nature Glow. Principal conclusion was that
The creative use of the company online presence- the website of the company was launched successfully, and this helped De Nature Glow build credibility and start appealing to the target audiences. The favorable comments of the stakeholders were that the site is presented with a clean design, easy to navigate and able to convey a sense of the brand as eco-friendly and artisanal.
Designed to make the business visible, basic SEO and responsive design has increased its prospects to grow organically in search engine rankings. The platform is easily scalable to allow future upgrades, e. to include e-commerce integration, social media connections with the aim of undertaking a larger marketing program.
Better teamwork and technical expertise on my part since I was able to apply the principles of project management to a practical situation as I improved my web development skills depending on what the clients wanted and what was going on in the market.
